Luchtlab is dé maandelijkse podiumavond van makers van Hollandse Luchten in Fabrique Unique. Als toeschouwer ben je getuige en onderdeel van een belangrijk moment; de eerste keer dat nieuw werk of groot experiment wordt getoond aan publiek. Een verrassende avond waar iedere maand een andere eigenzinnige theatermaker, muzikant of visuele kunstenaar zichzelf en de toeschouwer uitdaagt met improvisatie, muziek, theater, spoken-word en alles wat daartussen en omheen beweegt.

A Poem to Witness
Dichter en spoken-word artiest Sunni Lamin Barrow creëert een African night storytelling. In deze stijl zit het publiek in een cirkel om de verteller en de muzikant. Sunni neemt ons mee in zijn eigen verhalen en die van anderen. De performance is engelstalig.
Inspired by the poet’s lived experience, this performance investigates the many destructive images bullies leave upon their victims, and the many identities the victims mask themselves with, in their quest to adjust to society’s standard of being.
This performance portrays the shifting narratives and detachments that people who have often experienced being bullied go through, but in this showcase, both the bully and the bullied are given space to reason for their indifferences, as they are conditioned to meet eye to eye.
In this performance, storytelling meets mime, movements, live saxophone music (percussion style), and painting. A poem to witness is indeed the poem to witness, as the poet gives movements, live visulas, face and skin to a poem.
